Powercross part 2 - back again!
The flights were sucky, I was up at 5:30am in Brisbane because I couldn't sleep again, but then packed up and had to be at the airport by 8am for a 10am flight. The Virgin Blue flight was good, on time as always. I landed in Denpasar airport in Bali around 2pm local time. I grabbed my bags and made my way to the domestic terminal to get the Lion Air flight to Surabaya. No problems I thought, while in the back of my mind remembering back to last year when I had a Lion Air flight that was delayed, and another flight this year that was delayed. Surprise Surprise, this Lion Air flight was delayed too. By about 4 or 5 hours. So I spent some time editing the footage from the first trip I had over here with my SportsCamera.com.au helmet camera's. I even got it knocked over in those few hours which was a shock. It's more of a video diary and I will have it uploaded very soon. (The internet in this hotel sucks though and it will take roughly 5 hours to upload!)Last night we did our radio talk show again, but this time it was at a radio station I had been to before. Elfara 93FM was the place. I didn't think anything of it until the girl at the front said 'Hello Steve, good to see you again!'. I thought, Whoa! who's this... where am I and how do you know me?Oh and then it all came back to me, I had been there before and it was one of the first places I came last year for my first trip to Indonesia. Small world! After playing some cards (arseholes was the game) with the boys and finishing the radio stint, we headed out for dinner with some of the locals including Andrie and his wife Vivi. Awesome dinner, I had the mixed grill served on skewers. Felt like a real barbarian tearing through the meat haha. So now here I am, the next morning, I've had the worst sleep in the world. At 3:30 in the morning EVERY morning there is a prayer that goes for 15 minutes over the loud speakers. It just so happens there's a mosque directly out the side of our hotel room with the speaker pointed back towards us. It would have to be about 98 decibels, and something I think Motorcycling Australia would look into at the races because it's so loud! Needs a new Akropovic on that thing to muffle the sound a bit.
